The combination of cinnamon rolls and apple pie filling makes for an incredibly easy way to make a delicious cobbler! This creative dessert is wonderful for special occasions, holidays, or anytime you’re craving a sweet treat. With just 5 minutes to prepare, this heavenly baked dessert will soon be one of your favorite recipes.
It’s so easy, you’ll want to make it over and over again! Simply cut the refrigerated cinnamon rolls into quarters and mix with a can of apple pie filling. Place the mixture into a large dish, bake, drizzle with icing, and enjoy! It’s like eating a warm apple pie but without all of the fuss.
The ice cream is obviously optional, but who are we kidding?? Every homemade cobbler is better with ice cream. The combination of warm cinnamon apples and cold vanilla ice cream is absolutely heavenly. You can also serve with whipped cream instead if you plan on serving it as a sweet breakfast. I’m thinking Christmas morning!? Yes, please.
I recommend placing the apple and cinnamon roll mixture into a dish that is large enough to keep everything close to a single layer (a 7×11 or 9×13 casserole dish is best). You basically don’t want the cinnamon rolls to be buried or you might find a few that don’t cook all the way through.
Easy Cinnamon Roll Apple Cobbler
Ingredients
- 1 tube refrigerated cinnamon rolls
- 1 (20oz) can apple pie filling
- vanilla ice cream or whipped cream for serving (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375° F and grease a 7x11 or 9x13 baking dish. If your dish is a too large, that's OK! With this recipe, it's best to have a dish that allows the ingredients to rest in a single layer so that the cinnamon rolls aren't fully buried.
- Cut each cinnamon roll into quarters and toss them with the can of apple pie filling.
- Evenly place the mixture into your greased dish and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the cinnamon rolls are cooked through and golden brown.
- Remove from the oven and spread the frosting that comes with the cinnamon rolls over top.
- Enjoy warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream!
Notes
- You can also make this yummy dessert with peach or cherry pie filling.
- Want to take it up a notch? Serve with toasted pecans for added crunch and flavor.
- This sweet treat is a great addition to a Christmas morning breakfast, especially if you have family in town. Serve with eggs and bacon!
